Adventure Day
Climbing and mountaineering can be an excellent activity for familes to enjoy together. Mountain sports help kids gain self confidence and allow both parents and children to challenge themselves in a supportive environment. San Juan Mountain Guides has always offered specialized programs for families that stress fun and learning for every skill and adventure level.
Our popular Family Adventure Day is 4-5 hours of fun mountain activities set just above Ouray. Bring a lunch and water and we'll guide you through:
200 ft Zipline over the Uncompaghre River Gorge
Fun rock climbing for all abilities
Rappelling and general ropeskills
Many adventurous familes plan a week of local activities including: family adventure, rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, hiking, rafting, fishing, ballooning, and tons more! Let us help you plan an incredible vacation you and your kids will never forget.
Custom rates for your group. With a couple weeks notice we can usually accommodate your preferred schedule. All trips are for your family or group. We don't offer any open sign up days.
Maximum of 6 guests per guide group.
(In general, kids as young as 6 can participate and have fun.)
1 Adventurer: $325
2 Adventurers: $195 each
3 Adventurers: $150 each
4 Adventurers: $100 each
5 or more Adventurers: $90 each
